Grounding and Growing
After a whirlwind week of dahlia tuber sales (thank you for the incredible support!), we’re taking a breath and turning our attention back to what truly grounds us… our community.
We’re hoping you’'ll join us in a simple community challenge of gatehring the last bits of things that remian in yoru garden to showcase gratitude for what the season was! We will highlight the employee communitee here at Sunnyside, and all of you! Thank you for supporting our journey and attending our local on-farm offerings.
This week, we were reminded how special this local flower movement is. If you caught the recent KSL News feature on Utah’s growing local flower scene, you might have read about the growing industry and our impact on Utah’s State tax revenue. It’s so heartening to see local news shining a spotlight on the fact that growing agricultural products can be profitable in small spaces, just like what our small farm is doing! We’re truly honored to be part of this blooming community of growers, florists, and flower lovers across the state.
At Sunnyside, “local” isn’t just about proximity, it’s about connection. It’s the neighbor who stops by to peek at the fields, the brides who reaches out and wants our local flowers to be part of her day, and the friends who share our bouquets with someone they love. It’s the community that sits in tea cermeonies together, attends our small-scale workshops, and purchases our local tubers. Every stem, every class offered, and every tuber sold, tells a story of this place and the people who help it grow.
As the season winds down and the fields quiet, we’re reminded that deep roots make for strong blooms. Thank you for helping us grow. Not just flowers, but something more meaningful. 💛
If you haven’t yet, take a few minutes this week to wander your garden and simply notice what’s still blooming around you. If you decide to make an arrangement with what you find, tag us in your IG posts! We’d love to see it!
With gratitude and growing with you,
Chelsea + the Sunnyside team
