How Much Does a Florist Cost for a Wedding?
How much does a florist cost for a wedding? The answer can vary…let’s take a look at why.
One of the first questions couples ask when planning their wedding is:
“How much does a florist cost for a wedding?”
The answer can vary widely depending on your geographical location, the size of the wedding, the types of flowers you choose, and the level of design and installation involved.
Understanding how wedding florists price their work can help you set a realistic budget and find the option that works best for your celebration.
Average Wedding Florist Cost
Across the United States, most couples spend between $2,000 and $6,000 on wedding flowers.
Larger weddings with elaborate floral installations can reach $8,000–$15,000 or more, especially when floral arches, hanging installations, and large reception designs are involved.
But not every wedding needs that level of floral production.
Many couples are now choosing simpler floral packages that focus on the most meaningful pieces.
What Impacts the Cost of Wedding Flowers?
Several factors affect the cost of a wedding florist.
Flower Types
Some flowers are naturally more expensive due to how they grow, how fragile they are, or how far they travel.
For example, peonies and garden roses are typically more expensive than standard roses or carnations.
Seasonal flowers often provide better value because they are easier to source locally.
Quantity of Designs
The number of arrangements you order plays a big role in your final cost.
Typical wedding floral items include:
• Bridal bouquet
• Bridesmaid bouquets
• Boutonnieres
• Corsages
• Ceremony arrangements
• Reception centerpieces
• Floral arches or installations
The more pieces involved, the more design time and flowers are required.
Labor and Installation
Large weddings often require a team of florists to design, transport, and install arrangements at the venue.
This includes:
• Delivery
• Setup
• On-site design work
• Tear down after the event
Labor can be a significant part of a full-service wedding floral package.
A More Affordable Option: À La Carte Wedding Flowers
If you're wondering how to have beautiful wedding flowers without spending thousands, an à la carte floral option can be a great solution. This is the type of wedding flowers we offer to couples at Sunnyside.
With à la carte wedding flowers, couples order individual pieces instead of a full-service package.
This often includes:
• Bridal bouquets
• Bridesmaid bouquets
• Boutonnieres
• Corsages
• Simple centerpieces
Flowers are professionally designed but do not require large installations or full-service setup, which keeps costs significantly lower.
Many couples love this option because it allows them to prioritize the flowers that matter most while keeping the overall budget manageable.
A Note About Local Flowers
Another way couples can create meaningful wedding flowers is by choosing locally grown seasonal blooms. If the couple has a supportive and invlolved family that can help with the flowers, sourcing bulk buckets from our farm is a great way to go.
Local flowers are often:
• Fresher
• More unique
• Designed around the natural beauty of the season
They also support small flower farms and local agriculture.
For couples who love garden-style arrangements, locally grown flowers can create a look that feels organic and truly connected to place.
Beautiful wedding flowers don't have to mean elaborate installations or a massive floral budget.
Many couples are discovering that simple flowers, thoughtfully designed, can be just as meaningful.
And sometimes those flowers are grown just down the road.
I hope to see you at the farm!
Let’s Talk Wedding Flowers in Utah: How to Choose a Wedding Florist (and Why Local Flowers Matter)
If you’re planning a wedding in Utah, one of the most exciting details to dream about is the flowers. Wedding flowers set the tone for the entire day. Let’s talk about finding the right flowers and florist for your Utah wedding.
If you’re planning a wedding in Utah, one of the most exciting details to dream about is the flowers. Wedding flowers set the tone for the entire day, and it’s one of the pieces in the celebration where you get to add your personal style and chosen color palette.
With so many options, brides often wonder: How do I choose the right Utah wedding florist? And how do you make sure the flowers feel personal without blowing the budget?
Let’s walk through a few things to consider when planning your Utah wedding flowers.
Start with Your Wedding Style
Utah weddings are beautifully diverse. You might be planning:
• A mountain wedding in Park City
• A garden wedding in Utah County
• A backyard celebration with family and friends
• A modern venue wedding in Salt Lake City
Your florist should understand the overall style you're hoping to create. Some florists specialize in large-scale luxury installs, while others focus on natural, garden-inspired designs that feel effortless and seasonal.
When browsing florists, pay attention to whether their design style aligns with your vision.
Consider Seasonality
One of the most common questions brides ask when planning their Utah wedding flowers is whether certain flowers will be available.
Utah has a beautiful but short growing season, which means flowers naturally change throughout the year.
For example:
Spring weddings may feature:
• Ranunculus
• Tulips
• Daffodils
• Anemones
Summer weddings often include:
• Dahlias
• Zinnias
• Cosmos
• Garden roses
Fall weddings may feature:
• Dahlias
• Amaranth
• Rudbeckia
• Textured grasses
Choosing flowers that are naturally in season often results in arrangements that look more organic, photograph beautifully, and support local flower farms.
Why Local Flowers Matter
Many wedding flowers travel thousands of miles before they reach a bouquet. By choosing locally grown flowers, you’re getting stems that were harvested just days before your wedding.
Local flowers often offer:
• Stronger durability on your wedding day
• Unique varieties you won’t find in wholesale catalogs
• More natural color palettes AND stronger frangrance
• A smaller environmental footprint
For couples who value sustainability and supporting local agriculture, Utah-grown flowers are an incredible option.
Full-Service vs À La Carte Wedding Flowers
Not every wedding needs a full-service florist installing large arches and hanging installations.
Many couples are looking for something simpler like beautiful, intentional flowers without the complexity of full-scale production.
This is where à la carte wedding flowers come in.
With an à la carte option, couples can order the essentials:
• Bridal bouquets
• Bridesmaid bouquets
• Boutonnieres
• Corsages
• Simple centerpieces
• Ceremony flowers
Flowers are prepared in advance and picked up at the farm or arranged for simple delivery.
This option works especially well for:
• Backyard weddings
• DIY couples
• Smaller guest lists and elopements
• Budget-conscious weddings
It allows you to have professionally designed flowers while keeping things flexible.
Ordering Utah Wedding Flowers from a Local Flower Farm
Working directly with a local flower farm can make the process feel much more personal.
Instead of selecting flowers from a catalog, you’re working with flowers that are grown specifically for the season of your wedding.
It also means your wedding flowers will feel connected to the place you're getting married!
Final Thoughts
When choosing a Utah wedding florist, the most important thing is finding someone whose work feels aligned with your vision and your priorities. Your wedding flowers should feel thoughtful, beautiful, and true to the season.
And sometimes the most meaningful flowers are the ones grown right down the road.
Why Hiring a Local Utah Wedding Florist Makes All the Difference
When planning your wedding, it’s easy to assume all florists source flowers the same way.
They don’t.
Here’s what makes hiring a local Utah flower farmer and wedding florist different.
When planning your wedding, it’s easy to assume all florists source flowers the same way.
They don’t.
Here’s what makes hiring a local Utah flower farmer and wedding florist different.
1. Your Flowers Are Cut Fresh (Not Shipped)
Most commercial wedding flowers are flown in from overseas.
When you hire a local Utah florist who grows flowers, your blooms are:
Cut within days (sometimes hours) of your wedding
Not shipped thousands of miles
Naturally aligned with the season
Freshness = longer vase life + better performance on your wedding day.
2. Your Wedding Supports Local Agriculture
When you invest in a local Utah County wedding florist, you’re supporting:
Small farms
Local families
Sustainable agriculture
The regional flower economy
Your wedding becomes part of something bigger.
3. Your Designs Will Never Look “Catalog”
Local flowers change week to week, which means your wedding won’t look like a copy of someone else’s Pinterest board.
Instead, you’ll get:
Unique color blends
Unexpected textures
Garden-inspired movement
Flowers your guests have never seen before
That’s the magic of farm-grown wedding design.
Is a Local Wedding Florist Right for You?
You’ll love working with a grower-florist if:
You care about sustainability

One of the most important decisions you’ll make is choosing flowers that are beautiful and in season. Why? Two reasons- you don’t want flowers fighting for their lives on your wedding day AND you’ll save a ton of money not having to ship flowers in from other hemispheres.
As a Utah County flower farmer and wedding florist, I design weddings around what’s naturally thriving in our fields, which means your flowers look fresh, abundant, and completely in tune with the season that you are getting married in.
Here’s what blooms best in Utah throughout the year.
Spring Weddings in Utah (April–May)

In-season favorites:
Tulips
Ranunculus

Early garden roses
Peonies
Spring weddings feel romantic, delicate, and full of movement. If you love soft pastels or airy garden-inspired designs, spring is your moment.

Fall is rich, moody, and textural.
In-season favorites:
Dahlias

As our farm continues to grow and evolve, we’ve made a few thoughtful changes to how we share our flowers, our space, and our time. We know transitions can bring questions, so we wanted to answer the most common ones here openly and with gratitude.
Why is Sunnyside changing its focus?

This shift isn’t about doing less it’s about doing what we do best, more intentionally.
Are you still selling flowers to the public?
Yes — just in a more focused way.
We will continue offering:
Bulk flower buckets for brides & creatives

What does “wholesale flowers for florists” mean?
We’re proudly entering our third season selling through the Utah Flower Market, supplying premium, specialty cut flowers to local event florists.
In addition:
We’ll offer weekly bulk bucket drops for florists who can’t attend the Wednesday market
These drops will be announced through our newsletter
Our goal is to support florists with reliable, high-quality, locally grown blooms that work beautifully for events. Wholesale is available to those who have a resell license.
Why did you create a new Instagram account?
To better reflect the evolution of our work, we created @sunnysideflowerstudio — the design-focused branch of our operation.
This account will feature:

Custom arrangements
Garden-style design work

Our original account will continue to share farm life and seasonal updates, while the studio account highlights our floral artistry.
Are you still offering yoga classes, subscriptions, or open farm visits?
No — and this was a thoughtful decision.
As of 2026, we are no longer offering:
Bouquet subscriptions
Yoga classes
Open public visiting hours
While we deeply cherished these experiences, our space and time are now best used for growing, harvesting, and designing flowers at a professional scale.
Can I still visit the farm?
Yes — by reservation only.
Our farm will now be accessible through:
Private venue reservations
Scheduled appointments
Announced events that require reservations
This helps us protect our growing spaces while still welcoming people in meaningful, intentional ways.
What are venue reservations like?
Our fields provide a beautiful backdrop for:
Photography sessions
Private garden gatherings
Small, curated events
Venue reservations are booked by the hour.
Flower picking is not included, but can be added for an additional fee.
You’ll find full pricing and package details on our website.
Why is this change important for the farm?

To support the long-term sustainability and growth of our farm, we will no longer be offering a few things we have done in the past :
Bouquet subscriptions
Yoga classes
Open public visiting hours
While we have enjoyed sharing our space with our local community, the farm will now be accessible to the public by scheduled appointment only, private reservations, and announced events that require reservations.
I have enjoyed creating a community that has shared their time with me in events and workshops, yoga classes, and local flowers…but our space is evolving. Our marketplace that used to house our events has now been turned into a design studio for flowers.
These changes will allow us to dedicate our time and energy to growing the highest quality flowers, allowing our employees to have effecient harvesting time for our customers, and a focused dedication to designing beautiful works of art for our clients.
Looking Ahead With Gratitude
This shift is an important step toward the future we envision for Sunnyside: A farm that honors our land, supports our family, and continues to share beauty with the community in a sustainable, realistic way.
We’re deeply grateful for every bouquet purchased, every class attended, every kind message, and every moment you’ve shared with us. Thank you for growing with us — through seasons of abundance, seasons of learning, and all the quiet moments in between.
A New Chapter
As we step into a new year, we’re excited to share some meaningful updates about the direction of Sunnyside Urban Farm. After years of learning, listening, and growing, we’re aligning our offerings with a clearer vision for the future of our little farm… one that’s sustainable, intentional, and true to the heart of what we do best.
Big changes are coming to Sunnyside Urban Farm in 2026.
As we align more closely with our long-term vision, we’re simplifying our offerings to focus on what sustains our farm and fuels our creativity.
Starting this year, we will no longer offer bouquet subscriptions, yoga classes, or public events. The farm will also no longer be open to the public, except by scheduled appointment.
We’re turning our energy toward what we do best:
Wholesale flowers for florists
Bulk DIY flower buckets for brides
Wedding floral design & à la carte packages
Custom arrangements & Arrangement of the Month Club
Farm Reservations
We’re incredibly grateful for your support through every season of this journey.
Q&A: What These Changes Mean for 2026
Why are you discontinuing bouquet subscriptions and classes?
To grow sustainably, we’re focusing our time and resources on the areas of the farm where the market supports our long-term vision: wedding flowers, wholesale to florists, and intentional design work.
Can I still visit the farm?
The farm is not open to the public. Visits are now by scheduled reservations, appointments, or events with reservations— allowing us to protect growing spaces and manage our workload during peak seasons.
Will you still offer workshops or events?
We’re simplifying our calendar to focus on growing and designing flowers. We will offer seasonal field-arranging experiences on a very limited basis. Announcements will be made in our weekly newsletters.
What offerings will remain?
We’re leaning into the services that sustain the farm:
Wedding floral design + à la carte options
Bulk flower buckets for DIY brides
Wholesale blooms for florists
Custom arrangements
Arrangement of the Month Club
Farm Reservations
Are weddings still available?
Yes! We’re expanding our wedding floral offerings and providing flexible, seasonal design packages for couples. We do not offer farm reservations for wedding receptions.
How can I place an order or reach out?
All custom orders can be made on our website and inquiries sent through the contact form on our website. Since we’re a small team, email is the best way to reach us.
5 Ways to Make Thanksgiving More Meaningful (and Less Chaotic)
The holidays can feel like…a lot. Full schedules, long lists, and the pressure to somehow make everything perfect. But a meaningful Thanksgiving doesn’t come from doing more. It usually comes from slowing down enough to notice what actually matters. Here are a few simple ways to make the day feel calmer, more intentional, and a whole lot more enjoyable.
1. Simplify the Menu
Pick a handful of dishes you really love and let the rest go. This year we decided to skip the stuffing entirely, make a couple of homemade pies, and order the rest of the meal.
No one remembers how many sides were on the table—they remember how it felt to be together. Ask guests to bring one thing, or grab a couple of store-made items to make the day easier on yourself.
2. Set the Table the Easy Way
Use what you already have. I used to stress myself out trying to have matching place settings for everyone, but I’ve let that go.
Mismatched plates, a simple piece of linen, and a handful of dried stems or greenery from the yard can create such a warm, inviting table. Imperfect usually ends up feeling more personal anyway.
3. Build in a Pause
Before the meal, invite everyone to take a moment of gratitude. Nothing formal—just a breath, a sentence, or a small moment of quiet.
It doesn’t have to be a big speech. Just slowing down for a second helps shift the day from rushed to meaningful.
4. Protect Your Pace
You don’t have to be “on” all day long.
Step outside for a few minutes, take a little walk, or sit with a cup of something warm. Hosting is wonderful, but it can also be draining. I’m an introvert surrounded by people I love, and I’ve learned not to feel guilty about stepping away for a few minutes to regroup. Those tiny resets make the whole day feel lighter.
5. Make Space for Connection
After dinner, skip the pressure of big activities or perfectly planned games.
Put out a puzzle, take a group walk, flip through old photos, or ask everyone to share a favorite memory. The simplest moments often end up becoming the ones we hold onto.
A Quick Note on Deals + Black Friday Specials
Before you dive into the holiday week, here’s a little reminder: several of our November deals are in their final days. If you’ve had your eye on something, this is the last week before those offers wrap up.
And for Black Friday, we’re launching our Give 1, Get 1 Gift Card Special. For every $100 gift card purchased, you’ll receive a $25 digital gift card.
A couple important notes:
• Make sure to add both the $100 card and the $25 card to your cart—the discount will apply automatically.
• The $100 physical card will be available for pickup.
• The $25 digital card will be emailed to the address you enter at checkout, so be sure to use a valid email.
Wishing you a warm, cozy, connected holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving—from our home and farm to yours.
xoxo,
Chelsea
Growing in the Quiet Season
This is the time of year when growth looks a little different at Sunnyside. It’s quieter, less visible, but still very much alive.
Winter on the farm is when all the planning, dreaming, and behind the scenes work take root. We’re mapping out new beds, shifting crops, and imagining the colors and textures that will fill the next season. It’s a mix of reflection and creation, a soft pause that lets us look back while still looking ahead.
But this season isn’t just for farmers.
It’s a beautiful moment for anyone to slow down and rethink what growth can look like. Growth doesn’t always mean doing more. Sometimes it means tending to the soil of your intentions, clearing out what no longer belongs, and giving new ideas room to breathe.
At Sunnyside, we’re leaning into this idea of quiet growth. We’re looking at what worked and what didn’t so we can step into the next season with intention. We’re letting ourselves dream freely before practicality steps in. We’re making space by saying no to things that don’t fit anymore and reminding ourselves that rest is not wasted time. And we’re trusting the process—trusting that good things unfold slowly, the same way a seed takes its time before breaking through the soil.
As Sunnyside moves into its next chapter with new fields, new structures, and new dreams, we’re reminded that all growth—whether it’s happening in the soil or within ourselves—begins in the quiet.
Here’s to growing slowly, intentionally, and together.
5 Ways to Style Dried Flowers for a Cozy Fall Home
Fresh, local flowers might be harder to find this time of year, but that doesn’t mean your home has to feel bare. Dried flowers are an easy, natural way to keep that touch of beauty indoors — they last for months and bring a bit of nature’s calm into everyday spaces. It’s also a simple way to support local farms year-round, even when the fields have gone quiet for winter.
Here are five simple ways to style dried flowers that feel cozy, timeless, and full of character.
1. Simple Vase Styling for Everyday Warmth
You don’t need a full arrangement to make an impact. Try grouping a few stems in small bud vases or vintage jars — think dried grasses, strawflower, or craspedia for pops of color.
Cluster them on your kitchen counter, bedside table, or windowsill for a touch of nature that lasts all season.
Tip: Keep stems loosely arranged and let them breathe — dried flowers love space and texture.
2. Create a Wreath or Garland
A wreath is a beautiful way to celebrate the season’s shift. Use a mix of dried foliage, seed pods, and blooms to create a natural, textural piece for your front door or mantel.
If you’re short on supplies, our DIY wreath kits make it simple — everything you need, right in the box.
Try this: Wrap a bit of ribbon or twine around the base for an organic, finished touch.
3. Mix Dried Stems with Fresh Evergreens
As the holidays approach, blend dried stems with fresh greenery like cedar, pine, or eucalyptus. The contrast of textures and tones creates beautiful depth and fragrance.
Use the mix in a centerpiece or on a mantel for a seasonal transition from fall into winter.
Tip: White larkspur gives a festive, wintry look and stands out beautifully against fresh evergreens.
4. Use Dried Blooms in Gift Wrapping
A small sprig of dried flower tied onto a wrapped gift adds such a personal, thoughtful touch.
Try layering a strip of linen or kraft paper ribbon and tuck in a stem of statice, strawflower, or lavender for a simple, elegant finish.
These little details turn even the simplest gift into something memorable.
Tip: A personal touch shows you’ve given care to the details — and that care shines through in the gift you’re giving.
5. Long-Term Care and Display Tips
Keep your dried flowers out of direct sunlight and humidity to preserve their color and shape. A gentle dusting with a soft brush or cool hairdryer every so often keeps them looking fresh.
Handled with care, your arrangements can last a year or more — a lovely reminder of your garden’s abundance.
As the fields rest, let your home bloom in a different way.
Shop our Grower’s Choice Dried Floral Boxes and DIY wreath kits to start creating your own cozy fall displays — each stem gathered with care from our farm and preserved to last. 🌾

Grounding and Growing
After a whirlwind week of dahlia tuber sales (thank you for the incredible support!), we’re taking a breath and turning our attention back to what truly grounds us… our community.
This week, we were reminded how special this local flower movement is. If you caught the recent KSL News feature on Utah’s growing local flower scene, you might have read about the growing industry and our impact on Utah’s State tax revenue. It’s so heartening to see local news shining a spotlight on the fact that growing agricultural products can be profitable in small spaces, just like what our small farm is doing! We’re truly honored to be part of this blooming community of growers, florists, and flower lovers across the state.
At Sunnyside, “local” isn’t just about proximity, it’s about connection.
It’s the neighbor who stops by to peek at the fields, the brides who reaches out and wants our local flowers to be part of her day, and the friends who share our bouquets with someone they love. It’s the community that sits in tea cermeonies together, attends our small-scale workshops, and purchases our local tubers. Every stem, every class offered, and every tuber sold, tells a story of this place and the people who help it grow.
As the season winds down and the fields quiet, we’re reminded that deep roots make for strong blooms. Thank you for helping us grow. Not just flowers, but something more meaningful. 💛
If you haven’t yet, take a few minutes this week to wander your garden and simply notice what’s still blooming around you. If you decide to make an arrangement with what you find, tag us in your IG posts! We’d love to see it!
With gratitude and growing with you,
Chelsea + the Sunnyside team
After a whirlwind week of dahlia tuber sales (thank you for the incredible support!), we’re taking a breath and turning our attention back to what truly grounds us… our community.
We’re hoping you’'ll join us in a simple community challenge of gatehring the last bits of things that remian in yoru garden to showcase gratitude for what the season was! We will highlight the employee communitee here at Sunnyside, and all of you! Thank you for supporting our journey and attending our local on-farm offerings.

Wrapping Up a Beautiful Season + Looking Ahead to 2026 Blooms
As we wrap up another wonderful flower subscription season here at Sunnyside Urban Farm, I just want to take a moment to say thank you. Each bouquet that left the farm this year carried months of planning, early mornings, and so much love — and it’s been pure joy to see them brightening homes all across our community.
Even though the fields are slowing down, this is actually one of the busiest times on the farm. Fall is when all the planning and preparation for next spring happens.
Did you know that most of the spring flowers you’ll enjoy next year were planned almost a full year in advance? My planting plans, color palettes, and bulb and corm purchases for spring 2026 were all finalized last spring! By the time those blooms reach your bouquets, they’ve already been part of a year-long cycle of dreaming, digging, and growing.
Right now, I’m busy prepping the beds and enriching the soil so that those bulbs can grow strong underground all winter long. It’s a quiet kind of magic — planting hope now for something that won’t blossom until months down the road.
This week on Instagram, I’m sharing our Seasonal Collections for 2026 — highlighting what’s to come for Spring, Summer, and Fall. You’ll see a few sneak peeks of the varieties that will make their debut next year, along with familiar favorites like peonies, lilacs, spirea, and blossoming branches that will return to the lineup.
Head over to Instagram to see what’s coming next!

Fall on the Farm: Rolling Up Our Sleeves for Next Season 🌿
A lot of people assume that once the blooms fade and the last bouquets are cut, we get to take a long break — but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Fall on the farm is one of our busiest, most important seasons. It’s when we prepare the land, care for our perennials, and set the foundation for everything that will bloom next spring.
The flowers might be done for the year, but our work is far from over. Every task we do now impacts how strong, healthy, and abundant next season’s blooms will be.
Here’s a peek at what we’re doing right now — and why it matters:
⸻
🍂 Clearing Out Peony Leaves
What we’re doing: Once peonies finish for the season, we cut all their foliage back to the ground and remove it from the beds completely.
Why: Peonies are especially prone to fungal diseases, and old leaves can harbor spores that survive winter and reinfect plants in spring. By removing all the old foliage, we’re keeping our soil clean and preventing disease from spreading. It’s one of the best ways to protect these long-lived plants and help them thrive year after year.
⸻
🍂 Cutting Back Annuals
What we’re doing: We’re cutting back annual plants but leaving their roots in the soil. The top growth gets tossed or burned (so they don’t reseed and become weeds later), but the roots stay underground.
Why: Those roots become food for the soil. As they decompose over the winter, they add organic matter and help build a rich network of beneficial fungi and microbes. This supports healthy soil structure and improves water retention — all of which make for stronger, happier plants next season.
⸻
🍂 Refreshing the Soil
What we’re doing: After clearing the beds, we top everything with compost, soil conditioners, and acidifiers. We also run another round of soil testing to see what nutrients have been depleted through the season.
Why: Healthy soil = healthy flowers. Compost adds structure and life back into the soil, while soil testing helps us make thoughtful adjustments. It’s all about balance — we’re feeding the soil now so it can feed the plants later.
⸻
🍂 Labeling Dahlias
What we’re doing: Before the first frost hits, we’re tagging each dahlia variety while it’s still in bloom.
Why: Once frost arrives, all those vibrant flowers vanish overnight, and it’s nearly impossible to tell which tuber belongs to which plant. By labeling now, we can dig up, divide, and store our tubers with confidence — and make sure the best performers return next year.
⸻
🍂 Cutting Out What’s Not Coming Back
What we’re doing: Some plants just don’t make the cut for next year. We’re saying goodbye to a few roses, Montana, Verbascum, Daisies, some Rudbeckia, and Dahlias that didn’t perform well.
Why: Each growing season teaches us something new. By removing plants that underperformed or didn’t suit our space, we make room for varieties that will thrive. It’s always a little bittersweet, but renewal is part of the rhythm of farming.
⸻
🍂 Starting Anemones (and Maybe Ranunculus)
What we’re doing: We’re planting anemones now — and possibly ranunculus soon — even though it’s a bit late in the season. With some careful row covering, we can still give them a head start for spring blooms.
Why: Early planting gives these cool-weather flowers time to establish strong roots before winter. By protecting them through the colder months, we’re setting ourselves up for an early flush of color when everything else is still waking up.
⸻
The Bigger Picture 🌸
Fall is when we rebuild and restore. Every wheelbarrow of compost, every tag, every cutback — it all plays a role in nurturing the soil and planning for next year’s beauty. While the fields might look quiet from the outside, they’re full of unseen life and preparation beneath the surface.
This season reminds us that rest and work often coexist. The flowers may be sleeping, but the farm is quietly growing stronger — ready to bloom even brighter next year.
A Year in Bloom: Celebrating Photography on the Farm
As the seasons come to a close, I find myself reflecting on what an incredible year it has been welcoming photographers, families, couples, and creatives to the farm. Every corner of our fields held stories. They were captured in golden light, framed by blooms, and wrapped in the kind of beauty that only a working flower farm can offer.
In 2025, we saw the farm transform into a backdrop for so many special moments:
Family/portrait sessions we hosted large family groups and smaller spotlights (baptism, birthday, toddler, baby, etc) where moments were filled with laughter and connection among the rows of flowers.
Branding shoots for local entrepreneurs that turned the backdrop of our fields into their working success stories.
High school seniors and dance photos marking milestones and memories with portraits among the blooms.
Creative projects and styled shoots where photographers brought their visions and products to life in our space.
Seasonal events like Girls Night Out and Witches Night Out that paired floral fun with ready-made photo opportunities.
Each booking was a reminder of why we opened the farm to photography in the first place…to give people a space that feels both magical and grounded, natural yet elevated. The flowers change with the seasons, so no two sessions are ever the same. That makes each shoot here one of a kind.
Looking back, I feel so grateful for the way this community has embraced our farm as a place not only to grow flowers, but to grow memories. Seeing the photos come back—tiny hands holding blooms, couples sharing quiet moments, friends laughing in flowers—has been the highlight of my year.
Now it’s time to look ahead. Our 2026 photography calendar is officially open, and I’d love to welcome you to create your own story here next season. Whether you’re a professional photographer looking for the perfect setting, or you’re dreaming up a family session or celebration, we’d love to host you.
Spots fill quickly each year, so now is the time to reserve your preferred season. Spring blossoms, summer abundance, fall glow—each has its own beauty waiting to be captured. I don’t overschedule bookings so the photographer and client can be sure to find that perfect shot. I’ll never rush you out of the farm. And that’s all part of the experience.

Farm News
Our urban flower farm is growing in more ways than one!
As the days stretch longer and we receive stretches of warmer weather, our tiny urban flower farm is buzzing with new life!
Our grow room is maxed to capacity with new starts— waiting for their turn to be planted. Just this week, we’ve started the process of “hardening-off” cool weather plants that will find their permanent home in the ground for the season.
The ranunculus are on their way. This year, we’ll have three times the crop and successions- allowing us to enjoy ranunculus all spring long! Tulips and daffodils are pushing through. Anemones and the sweet peas are eager for the sun.
In addition to WHAT we are growing, here are some updates on HOW we are growing:
We have developed a new south field that will be dedicated to all our perennials: delphinium, lupine, oriental poppies, peonies, coral berries, caryopteris, mock orange and more! We are thrilled with the progress of this new development.
We are really excited about the workshops, classes, and flowers we are bringing to our local community. Although we primarily sell to event florists through the Utah Flower Market, this ‘branch’ of our farm is allowing you to become more involved in the space we are creating!
And that leads me to my final update! The space we are creating is in the works! This season will be a mix of growth and construction- and we are excited for it. A new barn will replace the old farmhouse and a flower shop will be added. Our events and classes will be held in our marketplace this year- but we will soon have a larger space to provide for our gatherings and offering year-round.
It’s the season of fresh beginnings, and we’re inviting you to be a part of it.

February is a Bridge.
“February is a bridge. A gentle transition from the stillness of winter to the hope of spring. It whispers to let love guide your actions: love for yourself, love for others, and love for the life you are creating.
Let go of what no longer serves your soul and trust that the seeds you plant now will grow beautifully in time.
This is your season to nurture your heart, honor your path, and embrace the light within you.” -Unknown

I love the transition that February brings. I already begin feeling the buzz to get back to work, while also enjoying the snow that keeps me bound inside reflecting on the garden plans ahead.
For now, our Tulips, Daffodils, Hyacinths, Alliums and other bulbs that were planted last fall are working hard beneath the surface- growing roots and storing energy to begin the transition to break through the soil’s surface where we will soon see their presence. Ranunculus and Anemones planted last fall are protected under low tunnels and already beginning to show green leaves! We are also making small steps in our grow room, starting hardy annuals and cold loving flowers. Anemones and sweet peas will soon be ready for planting. Surrounded by this growth, it’s hard not to get excited for what lies ahead!
We have a few remaining spaces in our spring subscription offering. Now is the perfect time to reserve your local flowers for weeks when you need them most!
